In 2001, the Pines City Doctors’ Hospital Organized Medical Staff was created. Its Articles and By Laws were approved by the Board then later promulgated. The services were departmentalized into 7 major areas, namely Medicine, Surgery, OB-Gynecology, Pediatrics, Rehabilitation Sciences, Pathology and Radiology.
To augment, the number of Competent General Surgeons in the Community and its neighboring provinces, a group of General Surgeons conceptualized & created a Five (5) Year Residency Training program in 2017. To diversify the cases handled, they involved three (3) different hospitals, 2 private Hospitals, namely Pines City Doctors, Hospital & Notre Dame de Chartres Hospital in City of Baguio & Benguet General Hospital, a Government Hospital in La Trinidad, Benguet Province. The Program was then approved by the Philippine College of General Surgeons, and it was named as the Cordillera Consortium General Surgery Training Program.
These training residents are rotated to these different hospitals, as scheduled by the Surgical Training Core. They had their first Resident Graduates last Dec 2023. The OB Gyne Department has created an OB Gyne Residency Training program last 2014. This was duly approved by the Philippine Board of OB-Gyne.
As of the moment, the department is ready for the Residency Training and is open for applicants in the Program. After four (4) years of conceptualization, the Resident Training Program of the Department of Medicine finally started last January 2019. They had their first graduates last December of 2022.
After which the Department was awarded a three (3) year Residency Training Program up to this time. In the Nursing Service their functions are classified as Special Areas and the General Wards. The Special Areas comprise nurses assigned in the OR-DR-RR- SICU-ENDO Complex, Neonatal Intensive care Unit, Renal Service Unit, Medical Intensive Care Unit, ER, and OPD.
The General Wards comprise all the private rooms and the wards of all the clinical disciplines of medicine. Deductive lectures, demos and preceptorships are educational modalities rendered to all of these areas as scheduled and or, as the need arises. These continues changes are fraction of the Hospitals’ realization in achieving her Vision as tertiary teaching hospital and a future referral center of the North
